If I'm being honest, this isn't really a "recipe." It's more of a method. But, Easter is soon, and these are adorable, so I think you'll forgive me.
Now you may be asking yourself, "Why is this crazy person making Easter cupcakes 3 weeks before Easter?" And, the answer is this...I like to be prepared.
Just kidding, just kidding... I actually didn't make these for Easter. My best friend is about to have her second baby, and I was in charge of food for her shower. Naturally, since the baby is a girl, we needed pink cupcakes. Deciding on the cupcake was a no brainer as I have the BEST STRAWBERRY CUPCAKE recipe ever! (Look for that recipe soon...not today, but soon.) But, deciding on a topper was a whole different thing. I know what you're thinking, "Duh, top them with strawberries," and you have a point, but here's the thing...strawberries just don't hold up very well. They're sensitive, and you risk them getting soft or making the frosting juicy. So, I had to find an alternative. Luckily for me, Easter is right around the corner, so there was no shortage of cutesy pastel and pink ideas.
Somewhere along the way, I found these, and my search was over. They're cute, girly/Eastery, and...they only have three ingredients. Yep, you heard (read) me correctly...only three ingredients!
Now, run to the store, grab what you need, and make these. Everyone you know will be impressed. Well, maybe don't run. Easter is 3 weeks away, and you haven't even read the recipe yet.
Here's how you do it.
Grab some pretzels and some white melting chocolate. Melt the chocolate, and spoon about a teaspoon of the chocolate onto the middle of each pretzel.
(FYI: I recommend actually using a teaspoon to measure this. A teaspoon is the right amount. I experimented with many measurements. More than a teaspoon is too much, and the M&Ms slide around everywhere while the chocolate seeps out the sides. Less isn't enough to stick.)
You can prepare several pretzels at a time, but beware...see all these expertly dolloped pretzels. Well, they all went on the trash plate. I got carried away, and all the chocolate hardened before I could get the M&Ms on. Consider yourself warned.
Okay, moving on. Once you have the chocolate on the pretzel, you're ready to finish assembling.
Place one M&M in the center of the chocolate, arrange 6 more around that one, and...
TA DA! You have the most adorable, little toppers that you've ever seen!
I told you they were cute! And, did I mention...only THREE ingredients?
